What Is Ovulation?

Ovulation is the process when a healthy egg is released from the ovary during a menstrual period. When the egg gets released from the ovary, it travels down to the fallopian tubes, this is when the womb prepares the body for a fertilized egg. In simple English, this is the period when a woman can most likely get pregnant.

The person can only get pregnant if that egg is fertilized by the partner’s sperm. During the ovulation period, more than one egg(s) are released so if more than one egg gets fertilized (by sex) then it means that the person can become pregnant with more babies.

Although if you miss this opportunity and don’t get pregnant then the egg is reabsorbed into the body, this lining then passes away as a period. After the egg is released, the period cycle will start between 10 to 16 days. You have to keep in mind that ovulation does not occur for everyone every month. We will get back to this again!

How To Use The Ovulation Calendar Calculator?

Using the Ovulation Calendar Calculator is easy, just follow the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Enter The First Day Of Your Menstrual Period

In the first step, you have to enter the first day of your menstrual period. You just have to enter the date and month, this will help in calculating the results.

Step 2: Enter The Cycle Length

In the last step, you have to enter the length of your menstrual cycle period. The normal cycle length is 28 days. With that said, we know that each woman is different and thus the cycle length will also differ.

What Will Be The Results?

Upon entering all the required information, you will know the most fertile days of your menstrual cycle. This will also be known as the “Estimated Fertility Window”. There are mainly 6 days in a woman’s menstrual cycle when they can get pregnant.

It is difficult to actually pinpoint the exact date when a woman is going to ovulate. So, this calculator will give you a 10-day window of ovulation, this makes planning ahead easier.

How Long Is The Ovulation Process?

As we discussed before, pinpointing the duration of the Ovulation Process is hard but here is the breakdown:

Women can have a menstrual cycle length of 28-32 days. Between that period, ovulation occurs between the days 11 and 21, so that is when you need to plan. It happens only ONE time, and as each woman is different the cycle length will also vary.

Ovulation also only lasts between 12-24  hours, if not fertilized, the egg will disintegrate.
